Everything is made in the UK by Polly, Lisa, Toby or myself. How amazing is that... Small scale manufacture with a focus on quality.
Charlotte runs the office for us and this is a skill far beyond me, we make quite the team.

]]>Front Pockets
Across the front of your bag you will find three narrow pockets, these are (as I'm hoping you will find out) perfect for needle tips, crochet hooks (even the rounder furls style hooks), pens, pencils and short rulers... It's safe to say that even though these three pockets are small they are mighty! Next to these there is a pocket half the width of the bag, I use this pocket to hold my magnetic leather cuff or envelope pouch with my scissors in.
Back Pocket
This pocket runs the length of your bag it's an excellent pocket for those of us that really like to print out our patterns (because I just can't keep track otherwise! I need to write on my patterns). This pocket takes a few sheets of A4 folded to A5, or a thin A5 notebook. You can also add a leather pocket pouch to your bag too, these are excellent for all of your crafting bits and pieces, I keep a collection of stitch markers in mine as well as row counters and all the shells my daughter tells me that I NEED to keep safe for her... somehow they always end up in my knitting bag.

This lead me to two UK mill's I've tried and tested both of their canvas' over the years but one has really stood out for me.
Our stock range of iconic roll top bags, both the #03 and the smaller #08's are made in a waterproof, washable canvas. The canvas will withstand between 20-30 washes before needing reproofing and this can be done an unlimited amount of times... Like a good jacket these bags are designed to last a lifetime and to only become more beautiful with age.

Eve and I started to do a little photoshoot today demonstrating how I use the bags and it's safe to say she understood the assignment! Really wish I'd videoed her comments... "so you make all of this... that's clever" and "You can really knit from this bit here, WOW"
Children really do say the funniest things ❤️
]]>A break from bag related content today to bring you a recipe that I'm really enjoying at the moment. We have a very posh drive through a little way from my house and if it's been a particularly crazy morning getting everyone to school then sometimes I treat myself to a pot of their smoky bean pots.
Recently though I've found myself craving them at home and so I thought I'd give it a go! To say that my first attempt was a disaster is an understatement! I tried an online recipe and they came out so sweet they were revolting!
So here's my try... Made with a collection of things I had in the cupboards at home on a whim. I'm really enjoying them for breakfast with poached eggs and some chopped parsley... Add some chilli flakes or chilli sauce too if you need waking up!
Ingredients -
Method -
Add everything but the lemon juice to a slow cooker and cook on medium for 6-8 hours... Add the lemon juice at the end if you like a bit of bite to it. serve with crust bread, poached eggs or even tortilla chips and sour cream.
Extras -
I chopped up aubergine and roasted it in the oven for about 30 mins then added it to the beans about an hour before they were finished.
Notes -
Paprika is key... a good quality paprika is so worth the money, it adds so much flavour. I use this one you can purchase one set & one hot/spicy tin here... both are so useful in everyday cooking. If you want to add a little heat to your beans add some hot paprika too!... Why not.
