Rhinebeck 2024
What a show!
My biggest take away was how incredibly kind everyone was, and just how many people stopped me to talk about my outfit... I mean it was bold, bright and beautiful!
So I thought I would share with you how I made this years outfit.
My dress was the starting point for this outfit. I made it earlier in the year after buying this incredible Merchant & Mills neon fabric from Ginger Twist Studios in Edinburgh.
The pattern was a bit of a gamble, I used the Zero Waste gather dress but shortened the front placket to just the top and made the skirt in two pieces and not the 3 of the original pattern. I used the left overs from the placket to make gathered cuffs. This made for a very quick and wearable dress that I can throw over leggings and layers or wear with a vest top in the summer.
Now I had my dress I knew I wanted a bright and colourful Rhinebeck sweater. I started with my favourite Spincycle Colour - Big Sky. The pinks and the neons are everything I need at the moment. Picking colours from within this colour group and sticking with complimentary colours I chose Petunia (Walcot Yarns - Origin) and Key Lime (Walcot Yarns - Opus - Held double for my ribbing).
I went bright and it definitely worked out in my favour. It's going to make the autumn school runs a lot more fun in soggy old England this year!
