Small but MIGHTY! This roll top is amazing!

Our bags are easy to use and maintain giving you more time to do what you love.

These bags feature internal slip pockets and a roll top that also folds down and stays open so you can work from your bag without anything catching on annoying clasps or zips.

Each bag is made from Organic GOTS certified cotton canvas and finished with solid brass fittings.

You can find out more about the different sizes and the wonderful women that make your bags below.

You can put whatever you like in your bags, but here are some ideas for their capacities based on our experience.

Small Roll Top

  • Up to 400g of yarn
  • Ideal for sock, cowl and hat projects
  • Perfect for small embroidery or punch needle projects
  • Works well to carry a small notebook and paints.

Small (previously known as the #08 roll top)

Depth – 4” (10 cm) Width – 7” (18 cm) Height - (Closed) – from 6” (15 cm) approximately.

Leather Handle - 14" (35cm) in total, long enough for you to slip your hand through to craft from or to attach to your bag/backpack.
Shipping Information

We ship orders Monday to Thursdays, any orders placed on these days before 12pm will ship the same day orders placed after 12pm with ship the following day. We aim to get everything out to you as quickly and timely as possible, sometimes in busy periods it can take us an additional couple of days to process. 

Orders

Your order will be shipped by Royal Mail, International orders will be handed to your local delivery service to complete the delivery. Every order is sent out tracked (unless otherwise stated) this is so that your order arrives quickly and in the best condition possible. 

Hide & Hammer is IOSS registered and GSPR compliant meaning we are very happy to ship your orders to the EU. All EU orders under 150 Euro (postage is excluded from this rate) ship without any additional fees. Meaning that the price you pay at check out is all you'll pay. Orders over 150 Euros will be given the option of how you would like your order shipped.

Perfection

This is my fourth #08 bag, but the first in this amazing canvas Nu has curated for her customers. It is beyond any canvas I have ever seen. It is thick, yet malleable. Meaning it can be compressed to fit into a suitcase, yet snap back into a bucket shape in a jiffy.

The #08 roll top has all of the same features as the iconic #03, but in a size that lends itself to smaller projects. It is ideal for projects that I like to knit such as mitts, cowls and light weight shawls. Both sizes are ideal travel companions.

As knitters we are most fortunate that we have a large variety of project bags from which to choose. But to me nothing beats Hide and Hammer’s roll top design. It is versatile, easy to carry, adjustable to amount of yarn and projects, pockets in which to tuck my notions, sturdy well made canvas, beautiful leather straps, weather resistant, offers maximum protection and sharp design-all without the use of zippers! No matter the size, the roll top is the ultimate project bag for me.

Perfect project bag for small, small / medium WIPS - crafted with the right balance of form without rigidity. Initially, I was a little confused how the leather straps fit around the bag for closing and carrying but I (think?) I’ve figured it out :-). I also have the larger version and ‘the retreat bag’….
