Where Quality, Hard Work, Passion, and Community Drive Our Craft
At Hide & Hammer, our mission is simple: to ensure the ongoing creation of well made, functional products that last decades. We believe in quality, hard work, passion, and community and every bag we create embodies these values.

Our Story
The Spark That Ignited Our Journey
When I returned to knitting, I couldn’t find anything in the UK that was both functional and stylish, a bag that was easy to maintain yet looked beautiful. Pregnant with my first child, I found myself on 40-minute daily commutes, using that precious time to problem solve and dream up a canvas roll-top bag that would incorporate innovative design elements. And thus, the iconic roll-top bag was born a turning point that encapsulated my vision for Hide & Hammer.
Growing Together
As time went on, and especially during the challenges of Covid, I realised I couldn’t do it all alone. Balancing the demands of being a working mum of two with my husband’s shift work, I faced burnout head-on. That realisation led me to build a collaborative, supportive team a family of passionate artisans dedicated to our craft.

Our Ethos & Craftsmanship
At Hide & Hammer, quality is at the heart of everything we do. We create our bags in small batches using only the finest materials:
GOTS-Certified Canvas & Italian Leather: Hand-selected for durability and beauty.
Traditional Hand Tools & Meticulous Finishing: Every piece is hand-finished, each leather detail is scrutinised by hand to ensure it meets our high standards.
Expertise Rooted in Decades of Experience: I spent nearly a decade hand-stitching leather and crafting fine leather goods, giving me the instinct to feel and define quality.
I hire team members from backgrounds in luxury, fashion, and interior design, ensuring that every bag is made with precision and care. If a product doesn’t meet our rigorous standards, it simply goes into the “naughty corner".
